We're going on a BUG Hunt!

On Thursday afternoon we went on a bug hunt.  Our inquiry this term is all about mini-beasts so we hoped we would find some around the school.  We looked under logs, sticks, bushes, trees, and
in gardens.  Look what we found!

Reflection

We have been making symmetrical patterns and learning about reflection for maths.

Playing shops!

We know have a mini New World Shop in our class.  We would love a cash register if anyone has one they don't use any more!

Look what's in our room!

Our inquiry wall has been taken over by....... minibeats!   Spiders, snails, frogs, worms, beetles, butterflies and other little creepie crawlies can be seen on the wall in Team Pukeko. They are there because we are learning about the wonderful living world of minibeasts.

This week we learnt that minibeasts don't have a back bone or internal skeleton.  We also learnt that spiders are not insects!  They are Arachnids!  Did you know the largest spider in the world is the Goliath Bird Eating Spider?
We made spiders out of egg cartons.  We shared them at assembly and told the school interesting spider facts.

MVP

Janet is our wonderful MVP this week for our school value of Participation.  Great work Janet!
