Anzac Day

On Anzac Day we go to the cenotaph to remember the soldiers who died in the war.  In World War 1 the soldiers fought in the trenches.  Many of the soldiers died.

The Poppy helps us to not forget the brave soldiers.

Cats Galore!

After reading the book "Beware of the Cat" we used our imaginations to paint the cat that has tigerish claws and crocodile jaws!

Mass (Weight)

At math time we are learning about mass.  We have been ordering objects according to their weight.  Today we looked at some groceries Mrs Weir brought in to find out what they weighed.  We wanted to eat the 1kg of yummy cheese!

Studyladder is a great site to go to play math games  Asha and Ashley are playing games to do with Mass.

Khaye and Sky are putting objects into order by their weight.  They are using words like heavy, heavier and heaviest.

Anna's neighbour brought this back from Owaka.  It is very sharp and spikey - ouch!
Some people think it is a hazelnut, what do you think?
